Excursion From Fez to Bhalil and Sefrou
Find out the two medium-sized cities : Bhalil and Sefrou- situated in the middle Atlas –about 25 km away from the imperial city of Fez.
Bhalil :
It is a small village in the suburbs of Sefrou-about 5km away from sefrou city entrance.
This region is a historical in its original architecture whose great number of cave houses set up in the mountain sides.
That’s why its inhabitants are a symbol of troglodyte dwellers.
The village origin dates back to the pre-Islamic Christian era.
Sefrou :
The French used to call it “the garden of Morocco”.
it is a small town situated in the foothills of the Atlas mountains.
It was crossed by Oeud Agay river.
It was famous for being a favorite whereabout of Jewish people who used to gather in Lmlah neighborhood, which reflects the Jewish architecture.
Its old medina still keeps its marvellous touches particularly while marching through.
Sefrou location allows it to be an agricultural area where the Cherry Festival takes place every June.
